AMERICAS. Walmart Senior Vice President, Sustainability Jane Ewing is the latest big name to join the speaker line-up for the Summit of the Americas – A Virtual Experience, which takes place on 5-9 April. Sustainability will be among the big picture themes discussed during the Knowledge Hub sessions during the week, with Jane Ewing’s contribution set to be a major highlight.

Ms Ewing leads Walmart’s Sustainability team and efforts, which prioritise people and the planet by aiming to source responsibly, sell sustainable products, restore natural resources and reduce waste and emissions.

She will discuss these initiatives in a special session at the Summit of the Americas and talk about sustainability as a core business value in retail and travel retail.

As reported, the all-digital event is being organised by the International Association of Airport and Duty Free Stores (IAADFS) and Asociación Sudamericana de Tiendas Libres (ASUTIL) in partnership with The Moodie Davitt Report (which organised the successful Virtual Travel Retail Expo from 12-16 October). Visitor registration (free to all travel retailers and airport companies) is open at the official event website, which is now live.

In 2013, she transitioned to the Walmart US Merchandising business before being asked to lead the US Business Development team. Here she was responsible for initiatives such as In-Store General Merchandise Pickup, Supercenter Reinvention, and Digital Acceleration, where she developed solutions to provide a seamless shopping experience for customers.

Before her current role, she led the People Group for Walmart International, supporting around 700,000 associates in 26 countries. She and her team were responsible for ensuring Walmart International attracts, develops, and retains top retail talent around the world.
