Enrique Urioste has 21 years of executive experience managing retail operations in Latin America, Armenia and the USA, across channels ranging from airports to ferries. He has a logistics and legal background, has strong experience of negotiations with government, airport authorities, shopping malls and unions and great knowledge of the private equity industry.
In his current role he is responsible for Dufry’s business in Argentina, Uruguay, Chile, Peru, Ecuador and Colombia. Previously, together with JH Partners (US private equity), he led the acquisition of Neutral, the leading duty free company in Uruguay and as CEO helped expand the company into new locations in Uruguay. In this role he also negotiated and operated the franchises for Gap and Banana Republic for Uruguay, Paraguay and Argentina.
Other senior roles have included President Airport Division at Duty Free Americas, President & CEO at Argentinean duty free company Interbaires and CEO at IOSC, a purchasing & logistics company based in Uruguay.
Enrique has also served the industry through board level participation at leading industry associations IAADFS and ASUTIL. He was a board member of the Duty Free World Council (2014-15) and President of the Uruguayan Chamber of Duty Free Border Stores (2011-2019).
