Andy Battjes is Director, Environmental, Health & Safety (EHS) for Brown-Forman Corporation, responsible for leading the team of EHS subject matter experts that ensures EHS compliance across Global Production operations. Andy collaborates with Brown-Forman’s Director, Corporate Safety and Crisis Management to implement Brown-Forman safety policies and strategies across Global Production operations and develop an integrated EHS management system to ensure standardized and effective systems for meeting regulatory compliance requirements.
Andy also collaborates with Brown-Forman’s Senior Manager Environmental Sustainability to develop the company’s Environmental Sustainability strategy and targets. This work includes translating the strategy and targets into site-level actions across Global Production operations and coordinating support for large-scale projects that reduce Brown-Forman’s environmental impact such as the East Fork Wind Power Purchase Agreement (PPA) that began operation on April 1, 2020.
Andy is a graduate of the University of Michigan and has over 27 years of experience in environmental compliance and sustainability. Currently, Andy represents Brown-Forman on the Beverage Industry Environmental Roundtable, a technical coalition of leading global beverage companies working together to advance environmental sustainability within the beverage sector.
