AMERICAS. The Airport Restaurant & Retail Association (ARRA) has lent its support to the forthcoming Summit of the Americas – A Virtual Experience, with senior ARRA members set to take part in a panel discussion about the industry’s direction on 8 April (1300 US eastern time). ARRA represents the interests of airport concessionaires large and small across North America.

As reported, the all-digital Summit of the Americas takes place on 5-9 April. It is being organised by the International Association of Airport and Duty Free Stores (IAADFS) and Asociación Sudamericana de Tiendas Libres (ASUTIL) in partnership with The Moodie Davitt Report.

The special ARRA session, titled ‘What does recovery look like in the airport concessions business?’, will discuss the issues facing the sector in North America. Speakers include leading travel retailers and restaurateurs from North America including:

  • SSP Americas Executive Vice President Pat Murray
  • Byrd Retail Group LLC President and CEO Judith Byrd
  • Hudson Executive Vice President and Chief Operating Officer Brian Quinn
  • Areas USA CEO Carlos Bernal.
